Vitec Corporate History

1987 April Vitec Co., Ltd. established at 8-20, Kita Shinagawa 1-chome, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, (with capital of 150 million yen) with the aim of distributing electronic components
Contracted as a special agent of electronic components for Sony Corporation
May Kansai Branch (currently known as Osaka Branch) established in Nishi-ku, Osaka-shi, Osaka, to distribute electronic components in western region of Japan
December Vitec Electronics (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. established in Singapore as a local subsidiary to distribute electronic components in Southeast Asia
1988 April IBM System 36 adopted to connect distribution system online throughout the company to improve efficiency and standardize office operations
1989 January Vitec Electronics (Hong Kong) Co, Ltd. established in Hong Kong as a local subsidiary to distribute electronic components in China and Hong Kong
March Acquired 88.5% interest of Sumi Co., Ltd., (renamed Vitec System Engineering Co., Ltd, in April 1988) to develop micro computer and ASIC and to design circuits to improve technical support functions
October Taiwan Liaison Office (currently known as Vitec Electronics (Taiwan) Co., Ltd.) established in Taipei to distribute electronic components in Taiwan
1990 October Installed IBM AS400 distribution system to handle the increased amount of general office work and to improve distribution management
Kita Kanto Sales Office (currently known as Kita Kanto Branch) established in Utsunomiya-shi, Tochigi, to distribute electronic components in Kita Kanto region
1993 October Went public on the OTC market, Japan Securities Dealers Association
1994 April Headquarters moved to 31-5, Higashi Shinagawa 1-chome, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo
1997 December Vitec Electronics (Taiwan) Co., Ltd. established in Taiwan
1998 April Kay Logistics Co., Ltd. (currently known as Arsnet Co., Ltd.) established in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo, as distribution consultant
2000 May Vitec Electronics (Taiwan) Co., Ltd., stocks transferred from Vitec Electronics (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.
December Listed on the second section of the Tokyo Stock Exchange

April Acquired majority stocks of Nihon LCR Co., Ltd., (currently known as InfoNics Co., Ltd.), making it a subsidiary group
October Shikoku Sales Office established in Matsuyama-shi, Ehime, to expand sales in Shikoku region
2002 March Headquarters moved to 6-5, Higashi Shinagawa 3-chome, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo
May Iwaki Sales Office established at Iwaki-shi, Fukushima, to expand sales in Tohoku region
June Vitec Electronics Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., established in Shanghai, China, to improve technical support functions
2003 March Headquarters certified in accordance with ISO 14001, the international standard of environmental management control
2004 October Singapore Branch and Hong Kong Branch established and take over sales from Vitec Electronics (Singapore) Pte., Ltd., and Vitec Electronics (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd.
2005 March U.S. Infonics established to expand sales in North America
July Infonics International Trading (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., established in Shanghai to expand sales in China
2007 July Headquarters certified in accordance with ISO 9001, the international standard of management control
